URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE MEMBERS OF OUR ASSOCIATION

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on Friday, Saturday and Sunday  the 27th, 28th and May 29th respectively will visit the region of Izmir, Turkey. In the afternoon, Saturday the 28th May, the Patriarch will celebrate  vespers in Panagia Alatsatiani, in Alacati region.

Panagia Alatsatiani, as called by all the compatriots from Minor Asia, ceased to function as a mosque and this was announced through our website. Rapid restorative works were executed for two - three years. The agiographies were uncovered and the Temple made of marble and which is of stunning art was restored. Panagia Alatsatiani is proclaimed formally by the "Turkish Ministry of Culture” as a "Historical Monument of Turkey".

Saturday the 28th May, also Patriarch will officiate at the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy at the archaeological site of Ephesus, Temple of the Justinian church of St. John the Theologian. Also Sunday, May the 29th at 9.30 a.m. a Patriarchal Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of St. Photini in Izmir will be officiated.

The President, Board Members and many members of our Association will be present at Vespers Service.
